Welcome to our community—a space created for childcare directors, by childcare directors. My name is Amanda, and I’ve spent the last decade immersed in the early childhood field, blending my passion for education with my expertise in operations and leadership.

Why I’m Qualified to Help You

I began my career in the corporate world, where I developed a passion for data and operations, earning an MBA with a focus on conflict management. I loved my roles running companies and managing teams, however, my perspective shifted after touring childcare centers for my first child. Inspired by the profound impact of early childhood education on brain development, I changed my career path and went back to school to earn a Master’s in Early Childhood Education and an AMS Montessori Certification. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats—from Lead Guide in a preschool classroom to Director of a large childcare center and later Director of Operations for a company supporting over 100 centers nationwide.

I’ve been where you are—navigating the complexities of leading a childcare center while juggling the demands of daily operations, staff, and families. Not to mention trying to have time for my own family and interests. During a particularly challenging period leading a center through the second year of a pandemic while pregnant with my third child, I hit the tipping point. I was so overwhelmed and didn’t feel like I had access to the support I needed to do my job effectively. It became clear to me that many directors face similar struggles: high stress, limited training, and a lack of support, leading to burnout and high turnover rates that ultimately affect the staff and children we care for.

That is Why I Started The Director’s Collective

Childcare directors are leaving the industry at alarming rates, not because of a lack of effort from owners or regional directors, but due to systemic issues that have gone unaddressed for far too long. Despite my extensive education and experience in both the business and childcare world, I found myself struggling to keep up with the demanding pace and unique challenges of leading a childcare center. On paper, I should have been fully equipped to succeed, but the reality of the role left me feeling overwhelmed. If I was experiencing this, I knew others were too. That’s why I created a space to change that- a community designed to provide the support, resources, and inspiration childcare directors truly deserve.
